Miriam & Will Cunningham are the new innkeepers.
Originally from Kentucky, Miriam moved to DC to attend graduate school in history. William was born in England and moved to the USA after he finished university. World Cup soccer brought them together, leading to an English country wedding in 2009 and the adoption of Stirling, an English Shepherd collie dog.
The Cunninghams moved to Sharpsburg from Washington, DC, in 2016, after living in the city for more than twenty years. They love the District, but were ready for something new and different. Miriam wanted to run a bed and breakfast and William wanted chickens. William continues his employment as a program director for a conferencing company and Miriam makes breakfast. Chickens still to come.
In summer 2018, we said goodbye to our beloved puppy Stirling, who had a wonderful life and was 14 1/2. She was Miriam’s shadow and generally loved by all whom met her. Perhaps in the future, there will be another Inn dog–but for now, we are treasuring Stirling’s memory.
