Miriam & Will Cunningham are your innkeepers.
Originally from Kentucky, Miriam moved to DC to attend graduate school in history. William was born in England, grew up in Scotland, and moved to the USA after he finished university. World Cup soccer and a mutual friend brought them together, leading to an English country wedding in 2009. Miriam worked for a few non-profits in the history and foreign relations fields before deciding for a complete change. William still works as a program manager for a small technology firm that provides services and access control at conferences/trade shows, etc.
The Cunninghams moved to Sharpsburg from Washington, DC, after living in the city for more than twenty years. After taking ownership of the Inn in 2016, the Cunninghams carefully and thoughtfully renovated each of the well-appointed suites and the public spaces–doing most of the work themselves. The Inn is decorated to reflect the couple’s love for traveling, history, fun mobiles, and plants. They hope you will enjoy a lovely cup of tea (or bourbon!) on the wrap-around porch or chatting with the innkeepers and other guests.
The Cunninghams live in the third floor of the Inn–what some would call the attic– making their “commute” to work just a simple walk downstairs. They love what they do at the Inn: baking and cooking; talking and visiting; and providing a warm and comfortable place to stay for their guests. They look forward to welcoming you to the Inn at Antietam.
