The Antietam Suite
Once a summer kitchen, this suite now connects to the main house and offers a cozy private space. The large brick fireplace with its wrought iron spit and cauldron still dominate the room, but now there is a new king bed in which to sleep. From the room, you can see the Antietam National Cemetery — immediately adjacent to the Inn. In the loft, there is a twin bed—perfect for kids over the age of 6. Look there for the wooden rocking horse, hand made from black walnut by Miriam’s 95 year old Great Uncle Keith. The en suite bathroom has a tiled walk-in shower with a rain shower-head.Wooden floors and peaked ceilings make this entire suite feel very rustic, and add to the pleasure of reading books on the Civil War under the benevolent gaze of Abraham Lincoln.
